Question by candywhurl: Dental CAre?
Where can i find an affordable dental insurance that can help pay for braces if you are over 18 in New Jersey?

Best answer:

Answer by Rappel_Welch
It may be difficult to find an insurance provider to kick in for the cost of braces if it is only for cosmetic purposes. Also, many dental insurance providers require that you pay a certain amount in premiums before they will cover anything at all. Also, they only cover a certain percentage of the work done. Find a reputable orthodontist, and ask what insurance coverage they accept, and ask if they know the insurance benefit package specs. You may also want to consider financing over time if the amount covered by the ins. company is high. The orthodontist will be able to tell you which financing packages are offered in your area. BEWARE: financing medical/dental costs are generally a high interest finance deal. They give you a certain amount of time to pay interest free, then you get slammed with a high finance rate.
Consider your options carefully. Good luck!

Question by ssasmor: Is it okay to go swimming and do upper body exercise?
Is it alright to both swim and do upper body exercises or will I be using too many of the same muscles and be overexerting myself?

Best answer:

Answer by Dakota G
If you are talking about weight training, then you should do your training before jumping in the pool. Do not be afraid to do both. You may be sore, but as long as you don’t life too much weight, you won’t hurt yourself.

As a swimmer, you should try to do more reps of a smaller weight, rather than less reps of a heavy weight. This way, your muscles are trained for endurance, and there is a much smaller chance of hurting yourself.

A great idea is to do exercises that do not involve weights. For example, try pull-ups, chin-ups, push-ups and even arm circles.

Good luck!

Question by partlysunny: Why is getting kids health insurance a higher priority than getting adults covered?
I don’t understand this. It seems that getting kids health insurance in this country is more important than getting it for adults, when don’t adults need to go to the doctor more often? If adults can’t afford it, and therefore probably aren’t getting the health care that they need, how are they supposed to take care of their kids?? I guess it’s cheaper to get kids covered because adults generally are at a higher risk of having health problems, getting into serious accidents, etc. Why do kids really even need it? As an adult, I’ve have to go to the doctor more than when I was a kid. I recently had 3 wisdom teeth out, have a 4th one coming in, and I have to pay it all out of pocket because my small insurance policy won’t cover dental. I think it’s more important that adults get covered first.

Best answer:

Answer by Anima1982
I feel exactly the way you do. I don’t understand why there are so many programs out there for kids, but little to nothing for adults.

I’m still trying to pay off my hospital bills from last year and I was only hospitalized twice.
I’m 25 now and I’d hate to see how much I’m going to have to start paying once I’m older and have more issues.

Say I get a new dental care package. What does it typically cover? Could I get a policy and immediately use it for fillings. What is the cheapest dental coverage out there that covers fillings and cleanings? Is it economical and feasible to pick up a policy, carry it while you need it and then drop it?

Please tell me about your dental coverage experiences. Right now I went to a dental school, but I wanted to research my other option to make sure I’m making the right choice

Best answer:

Answer by LX
It depends on what strata you on, the lower ones dont pay for anything and the higher ones pay for more

Question by Turquoise Eyes: What is the Ideal weight to lift for a lower body exercise?
I am about 5’8 Tall without shoes of course
and weigh 140 pounds

I am toned but want to get a bit more volume on my lower body.
I am now doing lower body exercises (leg & back “butt”)
and I lift around 40 pounds + the bar is about 5 pounds
when I do squats.

Is this an okay weight for me or should I do more or less weights?
Maybe the bar weighs 10 pounds. It’s no professional bar just something I bought at BIG 5

Best answer:

Answer by Hannibal the Cannibal
What bar is 5lbs? The bar you use to squat? Those squat/bench press bars weigh 45lbs by themselves.

An appropriate weight all depends on your body and fitness level. Aim for 10-15 reps. If you can do them easily, you aren’t lifting enough weight. If you can’t do even 10, you’re trying to lift too much.

What do you think? Answer below!

Overeating:

This is another aspect that can trigger improve in fat. More than consuming need to be prevented to maintain the bodyweight under control. But that doesn’t indicate, one really should starve to lessen the meals intake. Keep in mind, obtaining breakfast, lunch and dinner, wealthy in vitamins is an absolute should to give birth to a nutritious infant. Ingesting in reasonable quantities to your heart’s subject material for the duration of meal times is all that is required to control human body fat, which in turns assists in stopping stretch marks whilst pregnant.

Question by Jimmy L: What can I do to get dental care without dental insurance?
Hi everyone, I’m a 2x veteran that seperated from the Army, recently I have trouble finding a dentist that will provide dental care under a Vet Affairs dental reimbursement program. Because I have one missing tooth (pre-existing cond.), the costs for the dental implant exceeded the VA fee schedule, therefore will not reimburse the dentist. VA has been ignoring my case for almost a year now. If I go for priv dent. ins. I will not be covered for a teeth implant. Now I’m thinking of going to Mexico for dental care. Are there any other options?

I know here in America we’ve heard talk that in a lot of the European countries, your medicine is “socialized” and government-funded. But I was wondering if you could tell me something about your dental care system; is that government-funded too? Or do you have to get private dental insurance (like here in the US) to get covered?

Also, if you could tell us which European nation you live in, I’d appreciate it.

Answer by Elizabeth
Each country has its own dental system, so it really does depend on the country. I’ll answer for the countries I’ve lived in.

UK – You can go to a NHS dentist (socialised) or a private one. The prices are fixed for the NHS dentists, and very affordable. There is a price cap on the amount that can be charged within a small time period. Emergency dentistry is even cheaper. One major problem though, it’s nearly impossible to find a dentist accepting new patients on the NHS, so most people are stuck with private (or just don’t go). Private prices are easily 2-3x the cost on the NHS.

Sweden/Norway – Partly socialised in Sweden, not in Norway, but people don’t have any insurance coverage for it either. It’s something people tend to pay full price for, and it can be incredibly expensive. Even with the discounts in Sweden, it’s expensive.

It’s free up to age 20 though, and to pensioners (in Sweden). It’s fairly common to take dental holidays to a cheaper country to get dental work done. The entire trip can work out to be less expensive than the procedure done locally. There was a news article a few years back that said Estonian and Polish dentists were learning Swedish in order to attract more “tourists”.
